Tim Liesenhoff's Marigan (1898) starred in the prize-giving ceremony by winning the overall winner award, the category award and Elcano's bust to the best classified centenary yacht


Marigan's crew was the great star of the prize-giving ceremony in the XXV Illes Balears Clàssics regatta that ended today in Club de Mar-Mallorca. The skip-owner and captain,Tim Liesenhoff, of Marigan, launched in 1898, received three awards: the overall winner, the yacht's category (Gaff-Vintage) and the best classified centenary yacht. This last award is a bust of the Spanish sailor Juan Sebastián Elcano, a piece from the Fifth Centenary Commission of the first circumnavigation.
The rest of the winners were the Argentinian Cippino (1949), in Bermudan sail; the American Argos (1964), in Classics, and January Sails (RI Classics).

The prize- giving ceremony ended the XXV Illes Balears Clàssics regatta. The competition gathered 37 classic and vintage yachts from nine countries. In the ceremony there was Borja de la Rosa, President of Club de Mar Mallorca; Carlos Pérez-Urruti, Navy Infantry Brigade General; Joaquín Pita da Veiga, Army Admiral; Manuel Nadal, Commodore of Club de Mar Mallorca and regatta manager; José Luis Arrom, managing director of Club de Mar-Mallorca and Emilio Feliu, president of the Protest Committee.
