Club de Mar has hosted this noon the official presentation of the XXV Illes Balears Balears Clàssics, with 37 participating boats from nine countries. The races will start on Thursday, 15 August, and will last until Saturday.

Manuel Nadal, Club de Mar's commodore, trusts that the weather forecast for the bay of Palma, with southwest wind of 10 to 12 knots all three days of races, will permit a "great show". The organisation has scheduled three races, one per day, with coastal courses to be decided depending on the weather, the distance will be between 10 to 17 nautical miles.

NEW ADDITIONS

The fleet, already berhed in front of the Clubhouse, has some unseen before units in the history of this regatta. Such as Giannella (1966), an elegant yawl of 20 meters length: La Spina (1929), first boat of the internation 12-meter class, 100% Italian, designed by Vincenzo Vittorio Baglietto; or Tiger Maru, a classic American sloop design from the early 70s, although launched in the Polish Gdansk shipyards.
